The Revd Joe Knight reflections on Wendell Berry
Gloucestershire Churches Environmental Justice Network. Zoom meeting on 15th October 2020 The Revd Joe Knight shares his thoughts on “Wendell Berry: Poetry, Creation and the Renewal of Rural Life” supported by beautiful images of rural life credited to Eric Ravilious (1903 - 1942). Joe’s talk reflects upon the impact of Wendell Berry’s writing, work and advocacy for local economies and environmental justice. Presented as a letter, it references connections with ministry in the Forest of Dean, and considers Berry’s challenge that big problems have small, local and communal solutions. This session led onto a very intersting discussion and questions as well as further reflection on how local initiatives can inspire change for the benefit of our place, the land and its people.
